Teaching for 7 years and practitioner for over 16 years, Chaz teaches joyful, creative yoga classes that are a fountain of fun! Chaz believes yoga should not be serious, as life is serious enough--this is why she loves keeping it light and enjoys playing upbeat music in class!
Chaz was introduced to the benefits of yoga as an adolescent when she joined Nicole Mode’s Yoga Studio (of France). . Chaz graduated from Rutgers College with Highest Honors with a degree in Genetics and high hopes of a PhD. Although she enjoyed the discipline inherent in the academic research world, she felt a deeper calling. Chaz then met her guru Mike Noury, (Gurmukh) of Yoga of India, who saw a unique light in her. Gurmukh went on to convince Chaz to become a yoga teacher and enroll in his teacher training program. In addition to yoga, visualization, and deep relaxation techniques, Chaz learned the very rewarding and healing practice of Thai yoga massage from Gurmukh.
In 2006, Chaz founded Sisters Yoga and Sisters Yoga School in Fresno--an all-female yoga studio. Sisters Yoga won top honors in the Fresno People's Choice Awards, Best Yoga category, two years in a row as well as appeared on all the local TV stations multiple times. Sisters Yoga was featured in numerous articles in the Fresno Bee and was honored as Fresno Magazine's "50 Favorite Things." She feels tremendous pride that Kandis, one of her teacher training graduates, purchased Sisters Yoga and her "pride and joy," Sisters Yoga, continues to thrive.
Chaz was recently named Best New Yoga Instructor in LA Family Magazine. Although Chaz takes a lighter approach, she is serious when it comes to capitalizing on the healing benefits yoga affords. So much of this life and our yoga practice is about raising our consciousness, freeing ourselves from the cages of our egos and feeling our connectedness.Come celebrate yourself with Chaz and open your heart door to the beaming light that is within us all!
