RESUMES AND COVER LETTERS BY EXPERIENCED PROFESSIONAL WRITER
? Clear and persuasive resumes and cover letters written from interview.
? More than 20 years experience with earlier experience as corporate recruiter.
? Graduate and undergradute degrees in Speech Communication and English.
? More than 10 years experience teaching university-level Speech, English, and Business Communication.
? Experienced with almost all occupations ranging from entry-level through senior management and professional.
HOW IT WORKS
? When you first inquire, I'll be happy to look over any existing resume at no charge. You can fax it to me or e-mail it. I'll ask you a few questions and at that time give you a firm price for me to write or recast your resume. We'll either do the full interview right then if that works for both of us, or set an appointment for you to come in or be interviewed via telephone.
? Whether you choose to come in or work by telephone and the Internet will make no difference in the quality of the work or its cost. It's entirely a matter of your convenience. You're always welcome here. Obviously, if you're not in Austin the latter is probably more convenient.
? I'll produce a draft in 24-48 hours from interview (rush is possible).
? You get to make changes, and we'll work on it until it's done. I'm going to surprise you at how close I am on the first draft, though.
? After I've sent you a draft, how soon it is final depends as much on you as on me. I move fast.
PRICES
? Resumes range from $50.00 to $250.00, and where your resume will fall depends largely on miles and complexity. In short, how much you make me work. Most student resumes are $50.00, whereas most senior executives and and professionals with considerable experience and complex careers can expect to pay closer to the high end of the range. As I said, I'll give you a firm price the first time we talk, and you won't be committed to anything until you've actually ordered the service.
? Cover letters are a separate service. The first letter I do for you is $30.00, and that is a one-time charge. Any subsequent correspondence (cover letters, follow-up letters) will range from $5.00 to $12.00, usually on the low end. What usually happens is customers take off on their own after they have a few letters written by me as examples. That doesn't hurt my feelings, and you can always come back for another $5.00 letter if you'd like my touch on something that puzzles you.
WHAT YOU GET
? A clearly written, persuasive resume in Word, PDF, Text, and HTML formats. That will enable you to handle any online or paper application you may confront. If you've come to see me, you get 15 printed originals. Otherwise, I'll advise you on kind of paper to use.
? As many cover or follow up letters as you ask for. While I don?t usually do generic cover letters, I can produce a set of models that will address most of the situations you?ll confront in a job search. You can modify those for specific applications, but even the models will be better letters if we start with a real job for which you might actually apply.
UPDATES
? I have a minimum charge of $20.00 for such changes as addresses and telephone numbers. Partly, that is to compensate me for keeping your files indefinitely. Adding recent jobs depends on complexity, but of late that has been running between $30.00 and $50.00. Again, you won't be obligated to anything until we've agreed on a fee and you've ordered the service.
That covers most of the possibilities. I've tried to be as clear and complete about the process as possible so that you know most of the possibilities before we speak. If you like, you can e-mail your existing resume as an attachment for a free evaluation.

RE Location: I'm in Austin, Texas, but low-cost telephone service makes it possible to conduct an interview with ease anywhere in North America. While resumes outside North America using only Internet to communicate are a bit more complicated, I do have resume clients in New Zealand, Australia, Japan, and Europe. We've been able to work it out.
