I went to the University of North Texas and
graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Kiensiology
with a minor in Health Promotion in 3 years. During
that time I also attained my Personal Training
certification from the National Academy of Sports
Medicine (NASM) and worked as a trainer in LA Fitness.
I really loved working with clients and getting to go
through such a personal journey with each person but
didn't care much for the gym setting, the constant
image issues, expenses, trainers who really didn't
care, etc... Thats when I got the idea to start my
own business. I've been training now for 2 years and
I love it more and more everyday!
My training "philosophy" is to educate. I really
don't care too much for the trainers who only show you
what to do and leave you curious about the "why" and
"how." They do that so that you are dependent on
their services which ensures their pay check, but does
no help in furthering your healthy lifestyle outside
of the gym setting. I really enjoy teaching and
telling my clients exactly what they are doing and
WHY.
I have a "core" (abdominals - abs, obliques-sides,
glutes- tush, and back) centered focus which includes
a lot of pilates and other core exercises and once the
core is built up we start really working on strength
and conditioning. I focus on getting my clients to
their ideal healthy weight and size, not some size
they see in magazines and really want my clients to
feel strong, healthy and energized.
We would start out having our first session as the
"assessment" day. This is where I would run you
through some tests and measurements, basically
measurable things so that we can see progress every
time we assess.
Each workout sheet you're given will be unique and unlike
any one that you have already gone through. Its so
important to keep your workouts changing so that your
body doesn't have any time to plateau.
