The State of Florida requires that all Security Officers hold a D
LICENSE. A minimum of 40 hours of training as required by the
State of Florida Department of Licensing pursuant to Section
493.6123 (1).
Even though you need 40 hours, the State allows you to do 24
hours initially, then return within 6 months to obtain the
additional 16 hours of training.
Shield Training Academy offers the initial 24 hours of training
Cost is $75.00 and includes materials for the class, photos and
fingerprints.
The additional 16 hours of training costs $55.00 and includes
materials for the class, photos and fingerprints. There are no
hidden charges.
The 28 hour G course for armed security officers Cost is
$185.00 and includes Instruction, State Forms, Fingerprints,
Photo, Notary, Ammunition, Targets, and the use of our
Firearms. *Note* We Only Use Factory Ammunition no Reloads
Are Used During Our Training Sessions
The 4 hour state requal for class G cost is $105.00

During classes, recruiters from various agencies may come and
speak. Our staff of experienced and well trained instructors
come from various backgrounds such as the U.S. Special
Forces, and Various Law Enforcement and Security Agencies.
