There are those who learn a skill and do it well, and then there is LéVonne. Her passion for the beauty and wellness industry has allowed her to transform her skill into an art form. Always expanding her talents, following her dreams and inspiring others to follow theirs.

"I've always known that I possessed the gift of touch. Though skill is a natural one it has been nurtured by loving family and engaging mentors.  I've been blessed to possess an accommodating spirit. which is part persona and my life.  My vision is really about transformation, imagination, steeled by fervent determination and strong faith." 

The beauty industry is no stranger to her talent. From modeling to graduating from Pittsburgh Beauty Academy (1988), she spearheaded the nail industry in Pittsburgh by becoming the Nail Director of the Uptown Hair Design Studio currently named Spa Uptown in 1990. In 1992, with the assistance of her close friend and mentor Marlene Bridge (National Cosmetology Association Educator and proprietor Elegant Nail Distributing, PA), she was accepted into the 'educator program' for the National Cosmetology Association. This be became an amazing opportunity for her; at the time she was the only female African-American NCA Educator in Pennsylvania. This honor gave her the credentials to write for numerous magazines, newspapers, guest on television and radio shows, speak at various media events and promote diversity growth in the community. She always encouraging business and salon owners to take the step and not put a ceiling on their spa dreams, earning or service potential.

LéVonne's vision out grew Uptown Salon Hair Design Studio and eventually moved to the posh suburban area of Mt. Lebanon, PA naming her new location to LéVonne de Spa. She personally designed the spa with many talented individuals who believed in her dream almost as much as she did. LéVonne de Spa has been featured on multiple televisions programs, web sites and magazines which have named it a 'Quintessential Retreat'. A perfectionist, she wrote and directed the visual arts in her own commercial showcasing  a high profile client list. The spa club offers exquisite services that go a step beyond the norm allowing clients to nourish their inner flame in an environment of peace. Visitors enjoy unrivaled nail services, pedicures, waxing, European facials, and lulling signature spa body treatments to all who desire more from the spa experience.

Traveling to other states at the request of clients who require her personalized services for an entire week of her pampering has been a typical event in her career. At times she has been known to prepare spa meals for them to indulge their taste buds as well and well as their bodies. Within five years the spa was renovated twice to accommodate an expanding menu of services and deliver a more tranquil ambiance.

Continuing education plays a vital role in her continued growth. 'When you stop learning, your career is over'.  Over the years, LéVonne has mentored various salon professionals, aiding them in expanding their own businesses, and even funded cosmetology school for a few. In 1996, she launched Spa Literary Works www.levonnespa.biz supplying the Spa industry with educational consumer articles for the wellness and beauty industry. "Salon and spa owners face the universal challenge of attracting consumer attention and setting themselves apart from everyone else" she says. This ever flowing waterfall of creative words descriptions literally drop a prospective client into whatever beauty scenario the business wishes to portray. I pour my soul into everything I write. There was very little on the spa market that filled the industry needs when I began, so I allowed my mind to explore other artistic avenues in order to help myself and my fellow colleagues. It has been a wonderful privilege."

LéVonne invites novice and avid spa-goers, models and celebrities to experience the treasured expertise offered the LéVonne and her staff. Admirers say it's the 'I could stay here all day' feeling that ensure their return. Mentioned almost as often is the ease of spirit she imparts to those who partake of her various talents, so skillfully rendered. Her sincere care is what makes her unique. LéVonne is currently preparing a new location to open in February 2008. Located in Waterford it is very close to the Oakland International Airport. Perfect for traveling executives, celebrities and frequent air travelers.
