Food has always been a crucial part of my life.
As the granddaughter of an ice cream man, a baker and a shoemaker, and the daughter of a mom who seemed to live in the kitchen, it seemed natural that I would veer toward the arts, specifically food and design. As a child, playing restaurant with my siblings was just as popular as playing Barbie. Through my high school years, I hand sewed quite a few of my own skirts, and loved recreating dishes I had tried at restaurants. It was either Parsons, or Cooking School. After a volunteer stint in the Israeli Army, where I worked with soldiers in the kitchen, I knew I had fallen in love…with the kitchen. The smells, the noise, the insanity, the whole atmosphere was electric. I was hooked, my decision was made. And so it began.
I attended the prestigious Johnson & Wales Culinary University in Rhode Island as well as having received certification as a personal fitness chef. I went on to work as the Chef of Chardonnay's, a top restaurant just outside of Providence. I then returned to New York City where I also created incredible dishes for some very special high profile clients such as The Kabbalah Center of New York, Makor, Wall Street giants, celebrities, musicians, singers, comedians and many others.
As someone who likes to do things my way, I decided to start catering on my own, at first for friends, who blessfully entrusted me to handle their affairs, and then slowly for new clients.
My love for design and my passion for food came together to form Marigold.
I also enjoy photography and have taken some of the photos seen on this website. I volunteers at local animal shelters, enjoys hip hop dancing, tennis, and of course cooking for and cuddling with my husband.
Since giving back to the world we live in is a lesson I was taught early on, a percentage of Marigold’s profits will always be donated to the various organizations I believe are important, specifically The Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, The Center For Animal Care And Control, and The Rondout Valley Animal Shelter. These organizations save the lives of animals, something I have done and believe is crucial to balance nature.

My feeling is that food is not just something to be put into our mouths mindlessly, but rather every bite is meant to be savored, stimulating the senses and enthralling the palate. Every day at every meal.
That's why I created Marigold. I believe that every plate should look as good as it tastes and taste as good as it looks. But I also believe in healthy, organic fresh foods. My specialty is Mediterranean cuisine- think crystal blue waters, rays of sunshine, bountiful crisp vegetables, green olive oils, buttery cheeses, fish straight from the sea, the juiciest grapes and fruits…I could go on.
As the Chef and Owner of Marigold, I handle every detail of the business, along
with a small and very special team of people who have worked with me for the last
7 years.
All of Marigold’s services are true to our title of Couture.
