Professional Certification:
I have no certification, but I have over 7 years experience repairing, upgrading and building computers and teaching people how to use them.
Professional Resume:
I spent 4 years studying computers in high school when I was supposed to be studying English literature and economics. I have found that those 4 years were much more wisely spent than if I had done what the school system wanted me to. I learned not only from books which I read myself, but from hands-on experience as the network administrator and computer technician for the school. I also worked with the jack-of-all-trades janitor, who taught me many other skills.
I then went on to study electronics repair and naval radio maintenance in the U.S. Navy, but left for reasons not appropriate to be discussed here (my personal religious, moral and political beliefs). After leaving the Navy, I traveled the U.S.A. for a couple years, placing an ad in local newspapers when I arrived in a town I liked, and thus gaining business. During one of my stops, I worked under verbal contract, for cash, with a computer repair company for approximately 1 year. I left the area when the business went under, and I am now hoping to settle down here in Auburn for quite a while.
Company Description:
I am an individual with no employees or partners and no corporate status. I travel across the country offering my services in exchange for cash, or many times in exchange for room and board or for goods.
My area of work includes PC's and many peripherals, including keyboards, mice, printers, scanners, and other various devices. I also do other household repairs, including minor appliance repair, plumbing, electrical, flooring, and many other things. I am not certified or "formally" trained in anything except basic electronics repair - the rest was learned from experience and from various mentors.
