June 2007-Present - Administrative assistant to senior minister at First Congregational Church, Columbus, Ohio. Duties include editing various writings for senior minister, writing and editing articles for church’s monthly newsletter, as well as various office work, such as answering telephones, scheduling appointments for senior minister, compiling reports and assisting in preparing programs. Position is part time, 20 hours per week.
1984-April 2007 - Columbus Dispatch, Columbus, Ohio. From 1998 to 2007, religion reporter, covering aspects of religion and ethics, both locally and nationally. Regularly wrote stories for both the weekly religion section and the daily Metro section. Left the Dispatch after accepting editorial department buyout offer made to cut costs.
