DJ D-LYFE ►
The moment the lights dim and that crazy voice announces “It’s the World Famous D-Lyfe Show,” the room fills with excitement and blood turns to adrenaline as the show begins and the legendary Deejay takes the stage. D-Lyfe’s unconventional approach to hip hop cleverly blends the classic with the current to create a new energy in music, breathe a new life to the genre and the party is transformed – you are in his space now and he re-introduces you to the music you love. You immediately rise to your feet, throw your hands in the air and the rest of the night is a euphoric blur.

A young phenom, D-Lyfe’s career began when Q-Tip recognized his natural ability to move the crowd and asked him to tour with A Tribe Called Quest as the hype-man for “The Low End Theory” tour. Soon after, D-Lyfe combined his talent to motivate audiences, with his exceptional skills behind the turntables and hit the road as Deejay and toured with a host of legendary pioneers in hip-hop, including Slick Rick, Doug E. Fresh, Whoodini and others. “Touring with those guys back then, being the young kid on tour, was not only an honor and privilege, but it was also a tremendous learning experience for me,” recalls D-Lyfe. “One of the most valuable things I learned was how to connect with the audience. How to feed off their energy, their passion and, in turn, expose mine and I would fall in love with music over and over again – every performance, every night of every tour.”
In addition to pioneers, D-Lyfe has had the pleasure of deejaying world tours with hit makers, like Ashanti, Ginuwine and Mario Winans. He also rocked the platinum and private parties of icons, like Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson, The Notorious B.I.G., Missy Elliott, P. Diddy, Snoop Doggy Dog, and was personally commissioned by Harve Pierre (President, Bad Boy Records) to deejay Sean P. Diddy Combs’ Making the Band Parties. He has also performed at official after-parties for the BET and MTV awards. Continuing to solidify his cross-cultural influence, D-Lyfe breathed life into the aristocratic world of Malcolm Forbes (Chairman and CEO of Forbes Magazine) by spinning at Malcolm's London birthday party. Further still, D-Lyfe’s craft has taken him all over the world and he has gained particular appreciation in Germany, where he continues to headline sold-out events; Brazil, where he deejayed the country’s official 2009 New Years Eve celebration; Africa, where he continues to move stadium-sized audiences in South Africa, Nigeria, Angola, Mozambique, Gabon and Senegal. D-Lyfe has also performed to a sea of hands in the air in Russia, Kazakhstan, Australia and Japan. This type of global reach has afforded D-Lyfe the title, World Famous.
No stranger to the media, D-Lyfe has appeared on many popular television shows, including The View and Live with Regis & Kathie Lee; Guest deejay on BET’s 106 and Park, MTV Spring Break, BET Spring Bling (segment host), Soul Train, Top of the Pops (London), MTV London, MTV Russia and Telemundo as well as the New Years Eve celebrations for MTV and ABC; D-Lyfe has been featured in several publications, The Source Magazine, XXL and U.S. and Brazilian editions of Rolling Stone, et al. He has also appeared – as artist, guest deejay or host – numerous times on various radio shows around the world, including a special set performance on Funkmaster Flex's show for New York Hot 97.1 and his current open invitation on Brazilian radio, 89.3 in Sao Paolo (over 50 million listeners).
D-Lyfe applies the same unbelievable work ethic and drive when he’s in the studio producing his highly-popular mixtapes or working on projects, such as Reggae artists Bounty Killer’s “My Experience” mixtape, or Beenie Man’s “Romie” remix. D-Lyfe has a world wide fan base, who continues to show their appreciation for his true art.
Life outside the music industry for D-Lyfe consists of the fulfilling work he does with Lyfe Choices, a non-profit foundation, which empowers young men and women, teaches accountability and provides the necessary tools to help in decision making. “I created Lyfe Choices a few years ago after I lost my nephew and cousin in a car accident,” explains D-Lyfe. “I didn’t want their loss to be in vain, so I developed the foundation as a platform to teach driver safety and awareness. It blossomed into a great resource for young people today.” D-Lyfe’s philanthropic work in the community will be forever touched by his nephew and cousin’s memories.
