I started my formal piano training at the age of four. By the age of ten I began taking private lessons with Juilliard-trained piano teacher and head of the music department at Utah State University, Gary Amano. Under his direction I received many honors as a pianist.
I graduated high school as the sterling scholar of music in both the local and regional competition. I have also been the solo artist with the Utah Valley and BYU-Idaho symphonies and have won and been honored at many local and state competitions. After high school, I was the recipient of a music scholarship to Utah State University. I later transferred to Brigham Young University-Idaho where I was also on scholarship. I graduated from BYU-Idaho with a degree in piano performance. After college, I had the privilege of traveling to Europe which not only allowed me unlimited access to classical concerts and programs performed by world famous musicians, but also enabled me to walk in the footsteps of many great composers of the past.
